The Team Pulse: AI-Native Edition

Leadership Resource: Measuring Team Health in the Age of Generative AI

Instructions: Run this survey anonymously. Rate each statement from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree).

I. Psychological Safety

  • Safety to Fail: "I feel comfortable sharing a situation where an AI tool I used gave me a wrong or 'unwise' suggestion."
  • Role Clarity: "I clearly understand which parts of my job should be augmented by AI and which require my unique human judgment."
  • Experimental Freedom: "I feel encouraged to experiment with new AI-native workflows, even if they temporarily slow down my output."

II. Judgment & Seniority

  • Critical Auditing: "When I use AI-generated code or text, I spend more time questioning the reasoning behind the output than I do fixing the syntax."
  • Wisdom Transfer: "Our senior engineers spend time teaching us how to spot AI hallucinations and architectural flaws, rather than just doing the work for us."
  • The "80/20" Balance: "AI handles the 'boilerplate' of my day (the first 80%), allowing me to focus on high-stakes architecture and decision-making (the final 20%)."

III. Contextual Power

  • Knowledge Accessibility: "Our team's internal documentation is structured well enough that an AI agent could actually help me solve a complex, domain-specific problem."

Interpreting the Results (The Prague 2026 Benchmarks)

Average ScoreTeam PersonaLeadership Strategy

3.0 – 4.1AI-AugmentedMentor: Focus on "Judgment Skills" training. Fix the "Reviewer Overload" for seniors.
Under 3.0AI-StrugglingProtect: Address AI anxiety and data quality first. Maintain the "Technical Soul."

Sunday Field Notes

The talk was one hour. The notes are every Sunday.

One short note most weeks on engineering leadership, teams, and building a career in public β€” the same thinking you just heard, without pretending I've figured it out. No pitch, no cadence guilt, leave in one click.
